The Hat Museum was born from an ancient hat factory. Unique in the Iberian Peninsula, the museum is a tribute to all men and women that made this industry one of the most important activities in the history of S. João da Madeira. In this space are preserved pictures and artifacts that illustrate the hat production methods and also the human, social and cultural dimension of the community for which this activity was important to.
Visit the long therm exhibitions, get to know the life of the workers in this industry and go back in time to an age when nobody would leave their house without a hat.
